Department of Civil Engineering

This college was established in the year 2007. The department of civil engineering was set up at the college in the year 2009 keeping in view of the growing need of civil engineers in the all round developmental activities of the country. The college offers degree course in civil engineering. It started the cou8rse w3ith intake of sixty students, and it has now risen to one hundred twenty students.

The first batch of students is passing out in june,2013. The department has well qualified faculty having rech academic and industrial experience. The department is adequately equipped with latest equipment in laboratories on various subjects of civil enginneering. The department provides opportunities to the students to make various experimental studies, which would help them in a great way in their profession, in future. The department organizes expert lectures from eminent personlities on various related topics to familiarize students the advancement that are taking place in the concerned fields.

The civil engineering students are taken to various major construction sites, where they observe and learn the management aspects of handling a major project. The faculty members are dedicated to teaching and research and participate activity in conferences, at institutes of repute. Some of hte faculty has contributed research papers in jounals of repute and some of them have written books, which have been well recived by students. Seminars and conferences are regular features, throughout in an academic session, of the department.

The students work on projects of practical utility in civil engineering as their course work. Form the academic session, 2013-14, the department is going to offer diploma course in civil engineering with an intake of sixty students. The aim of the department is to build our studnets, technically sound and complete engineers, and prepare them to take on professional challenges of all kinds and to become successful in their life.

Programmes offered by the department are :

1 Degree in Civil Engineering with intake of one hundred and twenty students.
2 Diploma in Civil Engineering with intake of sixty students.

Industrial Connections :

The department has contacts both with government and private organizations to creat opportunities for practical/vocational training to our students.
To name, the state government departments are: PWD, Irrigation, PHE department and there are a good number of private organization involved in construction activities.

Infrastructures :

The students of civil engineering are trained in computer application to civil engineering in design and drawings. They are given oppoutunities to become familiar to MS-projects and PRIMAVERA for application to contruction management, and to STADDPRO for structural analysis and efficient design.
