Dr. B.L. Gupta

Ph.D. in 1974 from Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur (UP) on “Combustion of composite solid rocket propellants”.
M.Sc. (Physical Chemistry) degree in 1965.
                He was given an opportunity to serve the Dept. of Space Engg. & Rocketry (SER), BIT Mesra, Ranchi in various positions. He was then promoted to the post of Prof. & Head of Applied Chemistry Dept. He was also served as Head of Nodal Centre at BIT Mesra sponsored by Govt. of India, New Delhi. He was also acted as expert in selection committee of BPSC (Bihar Public Service Commission) and Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) Trivandrum. He has delivered lectures in summer schools, University of Ranchi and VSSC, Trivandrum.

He has successfully completed several research projects sponsored by DRDO, New Delhi and VSSC Trivandrum.

He has guided one Ph. D. candidate and twelve ME (SER-Propulsion stream)student for their dessertations.

He has twenty four publications to his credit in both International/National Journals, symposia/Seminars.

Achievements:

Dr. B.L. Gupta: The work carried out on Gelled liquid propellants got global recognition. My student Dr. M. Varma worked on this topic got President Award.
NASA requested us to collaborate with their scientists and engineers, which we declined.
Dr. M. Varma got invitation from several countries to work on our research on heterogeneous metalized liquid propellants.
Ultimately, he visited Germany and completed the work within a fortnight or so, which they could not do in several months.
Our work was recognized by South Korean Govt. Dr. M. Varma was invited. He delivered a series of lectures on the research topic and was awarded for the first time to an Asian in November, 2012..

Research Project on the topic “Synthesis of microbially active compounds ( Mannich bases)” sent to AICTE, New Delhi for approval under Research Promotion  Scheme.

       

Dr. Meena Wadhwani:

Research Project on the topic “UV Light Induced Oxidation of Glucose & Lactose: A Kinetic Study” sent to Madhya Pradesh Council of Science & Technology Bhopal (M.P.) for further process.
