Basic Engineering Sciences
Department of Engineering Physics
The physics department was established in the year 2006. Department has a two good laboratories with latest equipments to demonstrate and train the engineering students to understand physical concepts. The department offers Engineering physics course to the first (I) year B.E students. The departmental infrastructure consists of smart classrooms with digital audio visual teaching aids, library and store room.
The department has well qualified, studious and dedicated faculty members and supporting staffs. The Department has been getting excellent results both in theoretical and practical examinations. The staff members keep themselves actively involved in the student welfare activities and works as student counsellors too.
- To encourage the inquisitiveness in a student and make him to understand the fundamentals of technology.
- To inform the student with the latest development in science so that can exploit it for development of technology.
- To imbibe in the student the idea that understanding of an atom is very essential to understand the universe.
- To instigate the “researcher” in a student so that he could be an innovator or inventor of tomorrow
- Well equipped laboratory.
- Highly qualified teaching staff with skilled supporting staff.
- Institute of Electronics and Tele Communication Engineer IETE student chapter which provides a platform for students to excel in research and development.
Department of Engineering Chemistry
The Department of Engineering Chemistry, LNCT&S Bhopal is started functioning in 2006with the basic aim to cater the needs of engineering students. The strength of the Department has been and continues to be excellence in research and teaching. The faculty of the Department is well qualified, motivated with a strong commitment to teaching and research.
The Department possesses well equipped and modern laboratory. In order to develop awareness about ecology and sensitivity to protect and preserve environment the Department also coordinates activities under ‘Quest Nature Club’ which is affiliated to World Wide Fund for Nature India.
The Department of Engineering Chemistry is committed to continuously improve the quality of education by enhancing the knowledge of student and staff members. Faculty members of the Department are also involved in organizing workshops/conferences for constant upgradation of skills and knowledge. The Department aims at strengthening Research and Development in basic and applied chemistry by organizing national seminars, conferencesand workshops for the benefit of students and facultymembers.
Department of Engineering Mathematics
Mathematics is very important for engineers for obtaining solutions to different problems such as heat flow, fluid mechanics, digital electronics, computational mechanics and many other fields of science and engineering in which mathematical methods, statistical methods, numerical methods and computational methods are employed.
The department of Engineering Mathematics was established in 2006 with the aim to teaching engineering mathematics course to under graduate and post graduate students of various engineering streams in order to enable young technocrats to acquire mathematical thinking of formulating , analysing and solving a wide range of practical problems appearing in engineering science. In addition to engineeringcourses the department also teachesM.C. A. and M.Tech.students.
The department of engineering mathematics is the largest non engineeringdepartment having dedicated and efficient members of faculty. The members of faculty are actively engaged in teaching and research work. They have published their research papers in national and international journals. Most of the members of faculty are Ph. D. and other members are having ample experience.
Most of the members of faculty have attended toseveral National and International conferences in various fields of mathematics such as:
- Fixed point
- Special Function
- Differential Geometry
- Mathematical modeling
- Numerical Analysis
- Abstract Algebra
The department has organised several conferences namely:
- “Inter-Disciplinary Application of Mathematics” held in April-2007.
- “Recent Trends in Engineering Mathematics” held in March-2010.
- “EngineeringMathematics in Present Scenario” will be held in August-2013.
Department of Humanities
The ability to communicate is the primary factor that distinguishes human beings for animals. Communication is basic need of human beings and in present scenario the skills of communication are necessary to seek opportunity and growth in career. The department of Humanities, LNCTS provides high quality education in the field of skills and personality development . Our innovative energetic and highly qualified faculties are committed to excellence in teaching .Teaching methodology is interactive in nature. The department regularly participates in research and development programmes and faculties are very much research oriented.
Labs contain advance software which is useful to enhance the personality of the students and enable them to understand and use their soft skills to express their technical skills.
